Request a Home Check-Up
What is a Home Check Up?
Whether you are considering selling next month or next year, or longer, it's never too early to prepare. Akin to an annual health physical, a Health Check Up can help you determine if there are any updates or projects that could be done to help prepare for an eventual sale to maximize the sale price.
During a Home Check Up, we’ll discuss your goals and create a plan that can be implemented on your schedule. By taking this proactive step each year, you'll avoid being overwhelmed when it's time to sell, and your efforts could help sell your home at an optimal price and shortest possible timeframe. Some of the areas we’ll look at are the following:
- Improvements That Will Deliver the Greatest Return. Having worked through many transactions for buyers and sellers, I know what most buyers are looking for and what turns them off.
- Curb Appeal. First impressions are huge! Online listings often feature a photo of the outside of the house. Broken walkways, overgrown shrubs, and peeling front doors will make people scroll right by.
- Decluttering and Downsizing. This step can be the most difficult and necessary. Decluttering will make your space feel bigger and helps potential buyers picture their décor and belongings there. This process may include hauling things away, using temporary storage units, and using professional cleaners to give the home a deep clean. We’ll work on this to ensure the home looks streamlined and open.
- Contractors. It can be stressful to vet contractors. I've worked with many service providers and contractors on projects big and small. If you need a pro and aren't sure who to call, I can share a list of providers to help you get your home ready to list.
