Welcome to the Captain's Blog, an exclusive monthly blog for and about Lake Keowee.
My name is Rob, and I have been on the water most of my life, boating on Lake Keowee for the last 24 years.
I have seen quite a few changes during my 24 years on Lake Keowee. Still, some things have remained constant, such as the stunning natural beauty of our area and the wonderful people I encounter here (ok, there HAVE been a couple of “stinkers” too, but not many) and the annual rituals that come along with the change of seasons in the Southeast.
Each month, I will share stories on topics ranging from general lake life, boating, conservation, community, safety, seasonal tips and how-tos, and more. Having said this, to read this blog, you must keep only two facts in mind.
The first fact: the only things I am “captain” of are my own opinions. The first fact, therefore, leads right into the second fact: You shouldn’t take me too seriously; I certainly don’t.
As one of my favorite YouTube stars always says: “I’m an idiot- do what I do at your own risk.”
